The position involves working on an internationally-funded research project on dairy-beef production and marketing in Punjab and Sindh. The work involves undertaking applied, participatory research to improve livelihoods of smallholder farming families in Punjab and Sindh. The project aims to describe the major constraints of farm production and provide evidence-based recommendations, and actions for improve farm advisory services to overcome the production and marketing challenges.
The successful applicant will work with an established team of dynamic veterinary researchers in a well- supported, collegial position. The role will be based with the existing project team in Lahore, supervised by a Project Manager based at the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Lahore. It also involves working with another project team in Hayderabad and the Australian project leader based in Melbourne, Australia. The position require travel to project field sites, Punjab and Sindh, plus occasional trips to the project office, Hyderabad.

With the wider field team, carrying out collaborative field research data collection in Punjab/Sindh. Contributing to creation and delivery of farm advisors/farmers training and other extension activities that bring meaningful benefit to stallholder farmers through evidence-based improvements to their farming system.
Data recording, entry, checking and summary.
Helping contribute to project communications, including stakeholder reports and scientific publications.
Lahore Govt Jobs Note:
The project runs until June 2022. The position will have a probationary period for three months and is then renewable every 6 months depending upon satisfactory performance.
